Pear Deck pricing and Pear Deck cost per teacher, school and district in 2026

Pear Deck prints only its teacher price. Its pricing page, its product terms and order forms from six districts show what a school and a district actually pay, and what renewal adds.

Short answer: Pear Deck Teacher Premium costs $149 a year per teacher with the educator discount, and there is no monthly plan. Schools and districts pay by quote. The order forms we read show $4.26 per student for a 730-student school in 2026-27 and $2.25 per student a year for a 13,500-user district on a three-year deal, and every renewal adds a written 5 to 10 percent increase.

Pear Deck prints its teacher price and puts "Request a Quote" on the school and district plan. Public boards still approve those quotes in open meetings, so the order forms end up in agendas, minutes and payables reports. We read Pear Deck's pricing page, GoGuardian's help documentation and the product terms, plus order forms and board records from districts in Indiana, Ohio, North Dakota, Tennessee, California and Maryland. Every figure was checked on October 19, 2026. Coeducate is not affiliated with Pear Deck or GoGuardian. We sell a different kind of product, and the last section says plainly where Pear Deck is the better buy.

How much does Pear Deck cost for a teacher?

These are the Pear Deck plans on the Pear Deck Learning pricing page today.

Plan Price What it adds
Teacher FreeNo chargeInteractive questions, polls and quizzes, Student Paced mode, templates, anonymous join, locks and timers
Teacher Premium$149 a year, "with educator discount"Teacher Dashboard with responses by name, drawing and draggable responses, Reflect & Review, teacher feedback, audio, shared dashboard
Schools & DistrictsCustom quoteDistrict library, certified math and ELA content for grades 3 to 12, efficacy reports, onboarding and PD, Canvas and Schoology integration

There is no monthly Pear Deck plan. The "$12.42 a month" some review sites print is just $149 divided by twelve, and the "$149.99" figure on several software directories does not appear on Pear Deck's own page. The LMS integration has a catch worth reading twice: Pear Deck says it is included with a District subscription, while a "fee applies for School subscription".

How much does Pear Assessment cost?

Pear Assessment costs $125 a year for one teacher on Teacher Premium, and about $6.70 per student a year for a school on the Enterprise license. The Enterprise figure comes from Chardon Middle School's 2026-27 order form below, which lists 730 Pear Assessment Enterprise licenses with Video Quiz and AI Capabilities for $4,891.00.

The rest of the Pear Deck Learning family is priced separately. Pear Assessment, formerly Edulastic, has a Teacher Premium plan at $125 a year. Pear Practice has no paid teacher plan at all, only a school and district quote. Pear Start is included for schools that buy any of the other three.

How much does Pear Deck cost for a school?

Schools buy Pear Deck per student license, and the SKU codes on order forms show volume tiers: 1 to 1,499 licenses, 1,500 to 9,999 and 10,000 to 39,999. The cleanest recent example is Chardon Middle School in Ohio. Its board approved two GoGuardian Pear Deck Learning order forms in July 2026, both created June 25, 2026.

  • Pear Deck Subscription with LMS Access, 730 licenses at $4.26, term November 1, 2026 to October 31, 2027: $3,109.80.
  • Pear Assessment Enterprise with Video Quiz and AI Capabilities, 730 licenses at $6.70, term August 24, 2026 to August 23, 2027: $4,891.00.

So a single school of about 730 students paid $3,110 for Pear Deck on its own and about $8,000, or $10.96 per student, for Pear Deck plus Pear Assessment. Both forms carry a 5 percent renewal increase, which puts next year's Pear Deck line near $4.47 per student before any negotiation.

What districts actually paid for Pear Deck

Some of these are full order forms with a per-license price. Others are board approvals or payables lines that print only a total, and the last column says so.

District and document What was bought Amount What it works out to
Penn-Harris-Madison, IN, order form Q-429019, approved November 2024 Pear Deck Subscription with LMS Access, 13,500 users, December 2024 to November 2027 $91,125 over three years, paid as three $30,375 installments $6.75 per license for three years, $2.25 per user per year
Chardon Middle School, OH, board minutes July 2026 Pear Deck with LMS and Pear Assessment Enterprise, 730 licenses each, 2026-27 $3,109.80 and $4,891.00 $4.26 and $6.70 per student
Belcourt SD 7, ND, payables October 2025 Pear Deck Subscription with LMS, Pear Practice Premium, product training, for a grant-funded high school $4,215.00, $1,118.38 and $500.00 No license count printed
Knox County Schools, TN, agenda September 2026 GoGuardian and Pear Deck Learning student instruction products for West High School, August 2026 to August 2027 $10,904.76 from school funds Products not itemized
Bakersfield City SD, CA, minutes December 2022 Renewal of a one-year Pear Deck subscription $49,840.00 No license count printed
Montgomery County Public Schools, MD, procurement memo November 2021 Pear Deck instructional technology contract extension $480,000 Large-district ceiling, before the Pear Deck Learning rebrand

The spread is mostly volume. Penn-Harris-Madison sits in the 10,000-plus tier and committed to three years, which is how it reached $2.25. Chardon bought one year in the smallest tier and paid almost twice as much per student. In Iowa the area education agencies resell Pear Deck at "varying prices based on quantities, number of students, and number of buildings", so Iowa schools should ask their AEA before going direct.

Pear Deck renewal terms that change the real cost

The price on the first order form is not the price you pay for long. The order forms and product terms we read set out four rules a business office should know before signing.

  1. It renews itself. Subscriptions auto-renew in 12-month periods "at our then-current fees". To cancel, you need written notice at least 60 days before the term ends.
  2. The increase is written in. Each renewal adds an "Innovation Increase" to the per-license price: 10 percent on the 2024 Penn-Harris-Madison form, 5 percent on the 2026 forms.
  3. Fees are paid up front and are non-refundable. Payment is due net 30, before access starts, and the quote is valid for 90 days.
  4. Your PO terms do not apply. You can attach a purchase order number, but the form says GoGuardian does not agree to "any terms on your School's purchase order".

The 60-day notice window is the one schools miss. A district running a dozen software subscriptions on different renewal dates is better off keeping every order form in contract management software that flags each notice deadline than finding out in September that a 5 percent increase already went through.

Pear Deck cost for a 700-student school, worked out

The question most principals face is whether to keep paying for a few teacher Premium plans or buy the school license. At the 2026-27 Chardon rate the answer comes quickly.

Option Who is covered Cost per year
5 teachers on Teacher Premium5 teachers$745
20 teachers on Teacher Premium20 teachers$2,980
School license, 700 students at $4.26Every teacher and student, plus LMS access$2,982
Same license in year two, 5 percent increaseSame$3,131

Twenty Premium teachers cost the same as the whole building. With fewer paying teachers than that, individual plans are cheaper. Once the count passes twenty, the school license wins and adds the district library and certified content for everyone else.

Questions to ask before you sign a Pear Deck quote

  1. Which volume tier is this SKU? The tier codes on the form decide the price per license. Ask whether your count is near a tier line.
  2. Can the Innovation Increase be capped or removed? It is a line in the order form, so it is negotiable before you sign, not after.
  3. Is a three-year price lower per year? Penn-Harris-Madison's three-year SKU came to $2.25 per user a year, paid in annual installments.
  4. Is LMS access included? Pear Deck charges for it on a School subscription and includes it on District. Check the line item name says "with LMS Access".
  5. What bundles are on offer? GoGuardian's own documentation says bundles with Pear Assessment, Pear Practice or GoGuardian Admin and Teacher carry pricing advantages. Price each product alone first, so you know what the bundle really saves.

Where Pear Deck is the better buy, and where Coeducate fits

Pear Deck is the right purchase when the goal is getting every student to answer during a whole-class lesson. It turns Google Slides or PowerPoint decks into interactive ones, shows the teacher every response live and is cheap per student at school scale. Nothing we sell does that, and we would not suggest trying.

What a live response wall does not do is coach the student whose answer is wrong, or record why it was wrong once the lesson ends. That is the job Coeducate does. A student works a problem or answers a question about a text, the tutor coaches with a hint instead of the answer, and the teacher gets a card that names the skill that failed, with the student's own work as evidence. Schools use it in the practice and intervention block, often in the same classes that run Pear Deck for direct instruction. The AI tutoring platform page compares it with other AI tutors on price and evidence.

Coeducate's prices are public on the pricing page: $89 a month for one teacher and up to 60 students, or $2,088 a year for a school of up to 600 students, about $3.48 per student.
