01 Read this first

What this page is and is not

It is a comparison of product categories, written from public information about how each kind of product works. It is not a review, it does not quote prices for anyone else, and it does not make claims about another vendor's security posture or roadmap.

Where an answer genuinely depends on a specific plan or contract, this page says so rather than guessing. Verify anything here against the vendor's own current documentation before you make a decision.

Khan Academy and Khanmigo are products and trademarks of Khan Academy. Coeducate has no relationship with them.

A content platform with a tutor attached

A large, well-built library of lessons and exercises, with an AI tutor that works inside that library. If your school has adopted the library, the fit is strong and the price per student is usually low.

An evidence layer over your own material

No content library. Coeducate reads the work your students produce from the curriculum you already teach, and its unit of output is a per-skill mastery record rather than a completed exercise.

Which question are you actually asking?

If the question is "what should my students work through?", a content platform is the right purchase and this page will not talk you out of it. If the question is "what did this student learn from the work we already set, and can I prove it in our standards?", that is a different product.

02 Comparison

The category differences that matter in a review

Category-level differences, not vendor claims. Where a category's answer depends on the specific plan or contract, this table says so instead of guessing. Coeducate is not affiliated with any product named here.

03 Three questions

What to ask whichever way you go

Does the evidence come back in our standards?

A tutor operating inside its own content universe reports progress in that universe. If your school teaches its own scheme, ask specifically what the teacher-facing record looks like and whether it maps to the standards you report against.

What is the default when a student is stuck?

Ask to see the actual behaviour rather than the policy statement. Hints and answers are different products, and the difference determines whether homework stays diagnostic.

Is student work used to train models, and can you delete it?

Get both answers in writing before the pilot. This is the question that stops rollouts late, after the enthusiasm is already public. Ours are on the student privacy page, including the certifications we do not hold.

Our answers: student privacy and COPPA compliance, what the teacher receives, and what it costs.

04 Being straight about it

When not to choose us

  • You need content. We do not supply a curriculum. If your program has no material of its own, a content platform or adaptive courseware is the correct purchase and we are the wrong one.
  • You need the lowest possible per-student price. A free or near-free consumer tier will always beat us on cost. We are priced per program and there is no free tier, for reasons set out on pricing.
  • You need a completed audit today. No SOC 2, no ISO 27001, no safe harbor seal, no signed state DPA. If your process requires one of those before a pilot, we are not ready for you yet.

05 Pricing

Priced per program, not per seat

Annual billing is about 17% lower. There is no free tier, and the privacy posture is identical on every plan.

Classroom

$89/mo

One teacher, up to 60 students, CSV mastery export.

School

$349/mo

Up to 10 educators and 600 students, roles, SSO, scheduled reports.

District

$1,290/mo

Up to 75 educators and 5,000 students, standards mapping, SIS export, PO billing.

Compare the output, not the feature list

Run the same piece of student work through both and look at what the teacher receives. That comparison settles it faster than any table.
