Imagine Learning cost, Imagine Math cost and Imagine Language and Literacy pricing for schools

Imagine Learning prints no price. Fifteen district quotes, state price lists and contracts do, from $100 per student in Louisiana to $6,647 for an Imagine Math site.

Short answer: Imagine Learning does not publish prices, but its quotes do. Imagine Language & Literacy has sold at $150 per student license for a decade (2014, 2021 and 2022 quotes), $125 on a 2025 quote, and $100 on Louisiana's state price list. Imagine Math is usually bought as a site license: $1,500 for one small school in 2025, $6,647.31 for a virtual K-5 program with training in 2021, and about $25 per student on Utah's 2020 state purchase. Idaho and Utah pay for Imagine Math for participating schools.

Evidence for ESSA, the National Center on Intensive Intervention charts and every review site we checked say the same thing: contact the vendor. What is public is the paper trail. Districts attach Imagine Learning quotes to board agendas, states publish price lists, and legislatures publish what they bought. Every figure below comes from one of those documents, linked, and read in October 2026. Coeducate is not affiliated with Imagine Learning. We sell a different kind of product, and the section near the end says plainly where Imagine is the better purchase.

How much does Imagine Learning cost?

It depends on the product and the license type, and Imagine Learning sells both ways. Its NCII chart entry describes the fee as "a flat annual fee per student or per school site, depending on customer preference." Evidence for ESSA says Imagine Math licenses "can be purchased for individual students or entire sites, and prices vary based on the implementation plan." On real quotes you will see these line items:

License type What it is Typical price in the documents
Imagine Language & Literacy Annual Student License One named student for one year $150 (2021 to 2022 quotes)
Imagine Language & Literacy Reusable License A seat that can be reassigned when a student exits $125 to $150
Imagine Math Site License Every student in one school $1,500 to about $6,650 per school
Imagine MyPath Site License Reading and math pathways for one school $1,000 to $7,500 per school
Professional development Virtual webinar package or on-site half days $750 per virtual session to $10,000 for a blended package
Assessment integration NWEA MAP or Renaissance Star data feed $500 per site per year

Two terms are printed on every quote we read. Imagine Learning "will audit enrollment count throughout the year" and invoices usage above the seats you bought, and the quote calls its pricing confidential. Boards publish them anyway, because a signed quote attached to an agenda is a public record.

Imagine Language and Literacy price per student

Imagine Language & Literacy is the K-5 program built for English learners, with first-language support, and the price has barely moved in ten years. Most districts pay for it from Title III, the English learner allocation.

Buyer and date What they bought Total Per student
Waukegan Public Schools, IL, 2014-15 300 licenses, plus $12,000 PD and $4,480 headsets $61,480 $150
Mountain View Whisman, CA, quote 251533 (2022-23) 75 annual student licenses, plus a $3,000 webinar package for up to 40 educators $14,250 $150
Hillsborough County, FL, for Hifz Academy, Title III (2022-23) 30 reusable licenses $4,500 $150
Liberty Public Schools, MO, quote Q-193928 (2025-26) 32 reusable licenses $4,000 $125
Louisiana DOE state price list, contract 4400019592 (2020 to 2025) Student license, grades 3 to 6 n/a $100

The Louisiana file would not load for us, so its figures come from a search summary of the PDF: $100 per student, $40 per headset, $5,000 for four on-site half-day sessions and $10,000 for the blended package, and 20 percent off list for Imagine Math, Imagine Reading or Galileo added to the order. Confirm them against the file before you quote them.

Bigger buyers show totals rather than unit prices. Brevard Public Schools in Florida approved $112,242.90 for 2024-25 by sole source, up $8,174.42 from the prior year "based on licensing change." Gulfport, Mississippi paid $44,000 for 2024-25 for 250 reusable licenses, 100 MyPath licenses and two webinars. Battle Ground, Washington prepaid $208,881.11 for three years (2023 to 2026) through the TIPS purchasing cooperative.

How much does Imagine Math cost?

Imagine Math is the former Think Through Math, which Imagine Learning's parent bought in 2016. It is sold mostly by school site, so the per-student cost depends on how many students in the building actually use it.

Buyer and date What they bought Price
Utah STEM Action Center, 2020 state purchase Imagine Math for 9,872 students $246,800, or $25.00 per student
Bethel School District, WA, September 2021 Site license plus a PD webinar, virtual K-5 program $6,647.31
Wellston Public Schools, OK, August 2025 One-year site license, one elementary school $1,500 (from a summary of the board record)

The same Utah table is a rare side-by-side. In the same purchase, ALEKS cost $297,259.74 for 16,542 students (about $18), i-Ready $166,208 for 5,194 (about $32) and ST Math $244,731 for 8,439 (about $29). Imagine Math at $25 sat in the middle. The "$50 per student" and "$22 to $60" figures that circulate on review sites have no document behind them that we could find.

MyPath, Imagine's reading and math pathway product, is priced the same way. Park Hill School District in Missouri paid $62,500 for 2024-25 on quote Q-18693, with site licenses of $6,500, $4,500 and $1,000 per school by size and twelve NWEA MAP integrations at $500 each. A 2022 bid response to a district RFP priced MyPath Reading at $7,500 per K-5 site, $4,200 for a grades 3 to 5 site, $3,500 for a six-hour on-site PD session and $750 for a three-hour virtual one.

Is Imagine Math free?

In two states, for schools that sign up. Idaho's State Department of Education pays for Imagine Math and Imagine Math Facts for participating students from kindergarten through Algebra 1 and Geometry, training included, and runs a 2026-27 registration form. Utah's STEM Action Center grant provides Imagine Math to approved schools, with Math Facts added at no charge. Texas paid for Think Through Math statewide in 2016 and 2017. Everywhere else, the district pays. If your state program covers it, the real cost is the teacher time to run it and the products you add on top.

Site license or per-student license, the break-even

The site license wins once enough students in one building use the product. Using the documents above: a $6,647 Imagine Math site against Utah's $25 per student breaks even at about 266 students. A $1,500 site breaks even at 60. For Imagine Language & Literacy, which is bought for a defined group of English learners, per-student licenses are the norm, and reusable licenses are worth asking for because students exit EL services mid-year.

Model a 60-student English learner group for one year at the published quotes: 60 licenses at $125 to $150 is $7,500 to $9,000, plus about $3,000 for a webinar package if your teachers are new to it. Headsets add $40 a student if you do not have them. Year two drops the training, so plan on $7,500 to $9,000 for the renewal.

Questions to ask before you sign an Imagine Learning quote

  • Is this an annual student license or a reusable license, and can we reassign seats when a student exits?
  • How is the enrollment audit counted, and when would we be invoiced for overage?
  • Is a site license cheaper for our building at our real usage, not our enrollment?
  • What discount applies if we add Imagine Math or MyPath to Language & Literacy on one order?
  • Does our state or a cooperative (TIPS, a state contract) already have a lower price?
  • Is the MAP or Star integration a separate $500 per site, and do we need it?
  • What does a three-year prepay save over three annual renewals?

The enrollment audit is the clause that surprises business managers. Before renewal, pull the usage and roster exports and compare them to the seats on the quote. If those exports live in a spreadsheet nobody wants to read, you can ask the license data questions in plain English and get the over-and-under count per school in a minute.

Where Imagine is the better purchase, and where Coeducate fits

For K-5 English learners who need vocabulary, oral language and first-language support, Imagine Language & Literacy is a purpose-built program with an ESSA "promising" rating, and Coeducate is not a substitute. The same is true if what you need is a large adaptive practice library with built-in pacing: Imagine Math and MyPath supply content, and we do not.

What those programs report is progress through their own lessons. They do not read a student's own written explanation and tell the teacher which idea broke. That is the gap Coeducate fills: a student works your problems, the tutor coaches with questions, and the teacher gets a card naming the misconception in the student's words, with a short reteach. The research based math intervention programs page shows how that layer sits next to an ESSA-rated program, and the high impact tutoring programs page covers it as the dosage and data layer of a tutoring model.

Coeducate's prices are on the pricing page: $89 a month for one teacher and up to 60 students, or $3,480 a year for a school with 10 educators and 600 students, about $5.80 per student. Sourced pricing for the programs schools usually compare is in our articles on Amira Learning cost, i-Ready cost per student and Edgenuity cost.

Frequently asked questions
